I’ll be honest with you, growing up I had no clue when it came to money. It just wasn’t something we talked about at home, and my parents didn’t make it a priority to teach my sister and I the basics.
When I stepped into adulthood, I struggled to figure it out on my own. I signed up for multiple credit cards, took out payday loans, and financed cars because that’s what the people around me did. Needless to say I learnt the hard way.
Fast forward many years later as a father of two young children myself, I’ll do everything I can to break this cycle of financial illiteracy in my own family.
It wasn’t until I was deep into my career managing corporate finances that I finally started applying the same logic to my own finances. I found a system that worked cutting out all the complicated terms and financial fluff widely spoken of these days.
Having spent decades working in and coaching personal finance, I’ve seen firsthand how tough managing money can be. I’ve met parents from all backgrounds, all trying to keep up, drowning in debt, and stressing about how to provide for their kids. It’s made me even more determined to help.
Outside coaching and teaching personal finance, you’ll find me in the gym running or swinging a golf club at my local driving range (still perfecting my inner Tiger Woods) apart from that I’m busy planning our next family trip to our favourite city: Paris.
